Dear RelationShipping Creator!

Some of this is taken directly from previous letters because my likes/wants really don't change all that much! Apologies for any repetition.

Aside from my DNWs (which aren't exactly extensive), go ahead and pick and choose through anything/everything below. I'm pretty easy to please so if you want to read the DNWs, skip the rest and write the fic of your heart (or indeed draw the art of your heart!) in whatever fandom we matched on, that's totally fine by me.

Note: I'm completely happy with any rating ranging from the mildest G right up to the most explicit of explicit (for fic or for art). Also, length of prompts below doesn't indicate that I want one fandom more than another - I just have more words for some and more incoherent squee for others. ;)

Fanart: All my requests are for fic or art, and I should probably make it clear that I'm 100% happy with either! But I'm terrible at giving art-specific prompts (I'm trying to improve!) so really, if we match on art and nothing from the prompts below grabs you then I'm totally fine with just my requested character(s) appearing on the same page.

Kissing is good, sparring/physical activity is good, something reminiscent of a canon scene is good... also happy with something porny or dark. I love contrasting colours, bold lines, little details like jewellery or specific clothes people wore in canon, I like fingers twined together (or in hair), or anything from my list of likes below!

100% DNWs:
  • children/pregnancy (not even vague mentions of pregnancy at all, please, including mpreg and oviposition, and no children as main characters - I'm happy to read a bit about the characters themselves as kids in the past, but I'd prefer everyone involved be adults at the time the fic takes place)
  • D/s lifestyle (casual D/s without minute negotiation, or totally unnegotiated dubcon iffiness, are both A-OK!)
  • humiliation (as a kink or otherwise)
  • scat/watersports/emetophilia
  • A/B/O
  • ageplay/infantilisation
  • any mention of spiders/tarantulas or similar - other creepy-crawlies are fine

Things I'm not fond of:
  • character death, if followed only by someone else's unending woeful angst (death in general is fine, feel free to kill whichever characters you like)
  • threesomes/moresomes/poly, unless requested
  • pure fluff/curtainfic - happy is wonderful, holding hands while skipping through meadows not so much! (unless you're going for crackfic, in which case totally fine!)

Basically, as long as it's not in my DNWs, absolutely go for it - I mean that 100%. Zombie apocalypse? Really kinky porn? Gore? Random crack? Badfic on purpose? Wacky AUs? All fine, and more! But, if you want ideas about what I like:

General likes:
  • time loops
  • Pacific Rim fusions
  • snarky, sarcastic or tongue-in-cheek humour
  • banter
  • characters getting older; ageing
  • characters knowing each other really well (whether as friends or enemies)
  • futurefic/post-canon
  • competence, whether physical or intellectual (or both)
  • action scenes; gruelling training; battles; fights (fistfights and with weapons)
  • characters being forced to fight/kill (Hunger Games, Mortal Kombat, that kind of thing)
  • seemingly insignificant details that turn out to be super-important/significant
  • worldbuilding
  • ridiculous crossovers (or indeed sensible ones)

For shipfic (in addition to the above):
  • friends to lovers; enemies to lovers; enemies to friends to lovers
  • characters who know each other really well (or get to know each other really well) and show it without meaning to or really trying to
  • people not saying 'I love you' but clearly meaning/demonstrating it anyway (that's not to say I totally DNW people saying 'I love you', btw - for some characters it works!)
  • tough characters making themselves realistically vulnerable
  • differences and contrasts in age/height/etc. (especially when the smaller/younger one isn't actually small/young, only in comparison to the other character)
  • one character being physically stronger than the other (especially if the weaker one isn't weak, only weaker in comparison); manhandling
  • happy (or at least hopeful) endings
  • getting together
  • first time (first time together, or getting back together after years apart)
  • competence kink
  • loyalty kink; trust kink
  • jealousy/possessiveness/co-dependency/protectiveness
  • admiration (physical and/or intellectual)
  • me-and-you-against-the-world
  • identity porn (roleplaying; undercover; secret identities; amnesia)
  • characters wearing each other's clothes
  • fake dating or undercover turning into something more
  • everyone thinks they're dating (but they're not, except maybe then they are)
  • dating but they don't realise (or one of them doesn't but the other does, for cultural/obliviousness reasons)

Explicit/kinky fic:
  • fight sex, or sparring/arguing turning into more
  • rough sex in general, and rough sex that turns slower and/or more intense from one time to the next
  • knifeplay, gunplay, weaponplay in general
  • breathplay/choking (preferably with hands)
  • bloodplay (preferably involving knives)
  • semi-clothed sex; clothed/naked; how awkward clothing (or armour, etc.) is removed
  • sex in showers
  • one character shaving a (male) character's face (preferably with a cutthroat razor but I'll adore anything!)
  • one character writing on another's skin; marking with cuts or bruises
  • stories behind scars/bruises/tattoos (and touching/kissing them, or reopening/reinjuring them)
  • characters kinking on differences in age/height/strength
  • sexual fantasies
  • voice/accent kink; phone sex; sexual situations where one character can hear the other one but not see them (e.g. in total darkness)
  • switching - I have absolutely no strict top/bottom roles in mind (and switching mid-scene is also great)
  • for m/m, first time topping/bottoming/with a guy
  • desperation; characters knowing they shouldn't but not being able to help themselves
  • characters who think they're just having casual sex ending up unexpectedly desperately in love, whether they like it or not
  • hard, desperate kissing; fingers in hair

If you fancy writing me a crossover, whether sensible or completely cracky, I'd totally encourage you to go ahead and do it. :D In terms of fandoms: if I've requested it for an exchange (my master list of exchange letters and fandoms I've requested is here) or I've written it (my AO3 page is here, you can safely assume it's fine to write for me!

Darker fic:
I enjoy darkfic and dark art so as long as it's not in my DNWs, go for it. Torture porn, ghost stories, scary magic, religious weirdness, twisted mindfuckery, non-con, gaslighting, serious body horror, all absolutely A-OK. Feel free to use bad/offensive/dirty language if it fits the fic, as much swearing as you like, etc. I'll read just about anything, including xeno, vore, serial killer AUs, whatever tickles your fancy. Basically: excepting my DNWs, feel free to try to weird me out!

All prompts below are just ideas - absolutely feel free to go in whatever direction you like!

Request-specific info:

--- Requested Ship: Brian McCaffrey/Stephen McCaffrey

Oh man, blue-eyed brothers ftw.

I have an oddly high opinion of this film. I think it's actually a very good watch, it's not poorly written, it's engaging, the characters are pretty strong... I also really like the whole training and newbness aspect of it (like Brian and Stephen racing up to the roof with hoses), and the whole fire-setting theme throughout is pretty well done. Donald Sutherland's character is appropriately creepy. Robert De Niro is pretty good, too. But my favourites were always Brian and Stephen and their odd sort of mix of conflict and caring.

I love how protective Stephen is of Brian, even when he doesn't need it, and even if he shows it by being a bit of a dick. I love all of Brian's terrible life choices, and how eventually firefighting ends up being not only the thing that ended Stephen's marriage but the thing that brings Stephen and Brian together (you can totally see why Stephen's wife left him, considering). Both of their lives revolve around it, right from the start of the movie with their dad's death and that photo of Brian.

I'm 100% happy with fix-it here, if you want to have Stephen live at the end of the film (maybe he's "just" seriously injured, or permanently injured so he can't actually go back to work in the same way... maybe he takes a sidestep into investigation, or they end up working together?), or go with his death and maybe something happened between them in the past.

Also totally up for AUs where Brian makes a go of something else instead of being a firefighter - Brian as a cop or in the military or another vaguely similar kind of service would be awesome, since there are so many parallels to draw. Then again, maybe Brian never left and made it through training the first time (and either worked in a different station or he moved to a different city). Maybe they meet again years later. Maybe it's the aftermath of Stephen almost dying that brings them together, except not quite the way they could've expected.

I'm totally fine with romance here, or with it being fucked up and unhealthy and codependent (and/or full of fighting)!

DCU (Comics):

--- Requested Ship: Bruce Wayne/Dick Grayson

I'll start out by saying 1) I'm much more familiar with pre-New 52 canon (though I'm happy to receive fic from pretty much any timeline!), and 2) I really prefer this ship while Dick's 18+. If you want to go with him still living with Bruce at that point, or if you want to write something set after he's left, either's fine.

I'm totally happy with you going with something-made-them-do-it as a catalyst here, if you like - villains, aliens, sex pollen, lazarus pits, amnesia, whatever you want. Or maybe Dick leaving makes Bruce realise he's made a mistake (whether he actually admits it or not is up to you).

I love their long and storied and pretty darned turbulent history. I love the fact that Bruce clearly cares for Dick and vice versa, but that Bruce is nigh on incapable of showing it and Dick is pretty endlessly frustrated by Bruce. I love that they know each other so well, and times they work together after Dick's left. And I love that part in Batman #416 where Dick needles Bruce into telling him he took Jason on as Robin because he missed him, and then Bruce tells him to leave (see here). Just, y'know, ignore the disco costume. ;)

I'm also a fan of Dick-as-Batman, so if you wanted to go for Bruce retiring (let's not have him die or disappear and provoke another Battle for the Cowl!), that's A-OK.

Training, sparring, working, getting into fights, arguing, one of them being hurt and needing the other's help... undercover as a couple or fake dating might work for these two, too!

--- Requested Ship: Roy Harper/Oliver Queen

These two: pre-New 52, they're basically like Bruce and Dick but even more fucked up!

Seriously, they're pretty much a slow-motion trainwreck throughout, and that's also pretty much what I love about them. Ollie is a genuinely awful father figure who had no real business taking on a sidekick because, let's face it, he can barely look after himself, and Roy has problems that may or may not be as a near-direct result of this.

Go with Roy's addiction if you like, and the fact that Ollie somehow didn't know about it - I'd much rather this than the vastly more happy-go-lucky Roy from the New 52 with his recovery from alcoholism. Basically: messed-up is fine. Lighter stuff is fine, too, but messed-up is totally fine.

One thing, though: I don't watch Arrow so I'm specifically asking for DCU here. If you pull in anything Arrowverse-specific, I really won't get the reference. I've read a hell of a lot of pre-New 52 GA, though, so feel free to pick whatever point you like (though I'd prefer Roy be 18+).

I kind of love that Ollie's a blonde, beardy, more overtly angry and still strangely more cheery and optimistic version of Bruce Wayne. They have such similar histories with their parents' deaths and then deciding to be vigilante protectors of their respective cities, their money and companies, their ridiculously young sidekicks, etc. etc. etc. And there's obviously parallels between Roy and Dick, too, but Roy and Dick end up being friends whereas Ollie and Bruce aren't each other's biggest fans. Feel free to drag in Dick and Bruce for contrast if you like.

One thing I'm not super keen on is Roy's relationship with Cheshire, and I'd prefer to keep mentions of Lian to a minimum - AU where that whole storyline didn't happen is fine, as is just Lian-is-elsewhere. Or, heck, go with the full angst of Lian-is-dead and Roy attempting to cope with that.

Feel free to play completely fast and loose with the DCU timeline here or make it a weird amalgamation. I'd love something set after Roy takes up as Arsenal (or Red Arrow) rather than when he's still Speedy. Something where they have to work together and actually face up to the things that have happened would be good - like, is there room in the League for Green Arrow and Red Arrow? Do they have to work together? Dare I suggest undercover-as-a-couple or some sort of identity porn?

I'm 100% okay with them working things out completely and something starting after that, or them having a sort of unhealthy shouldn't-be-doing-this this-guy-basically-raised-me, this-guy's-more-like-my-son-than-my-son-is physical relationship instead of them working things out. Totally happy for Connor and Mia and Dinah and whoever you like from Green Arrow or the JLA to make appearances, incidentally, though with less emphasis on Cheshire and Lian as noted above.

Dead Ringers (1988):

--- Requested Ship: Beverly Mantle/Elliot Mantle

This is just such a gloriously screwed up film and I love it. I caught this on TV late one night and I just sat there glued to it, wondering what the heck I was watching. I'd never seen anything like it before and I'm pretty sure there's not all that much like it in general anyway!

One thing: I'd very much prefer the focus be on the twins and not on their patients or Claire (mentions obviously fine, don't feel you have to pretend Claire doesn't exist!). And I know I have a pregnancy DNW above but if you did happen to want to write Dead Ringers fic then obviously it's a bit difficult without mentioning certain biological processes so consider that DNW toned down a bit! I'd prefer there be no focus on babies or actual childbirth, but totally fine with the fact they're gynaecologists and obviously the subject might come up, as might the whole thing with the instruments. I'd still absolutely prefer no kids in the story (unless it's a flashback of the twins themselves as kids!), though.

I'm basically looking for weird, creepy, unhealthy, codependent stuff here, with the two of them either managing to support each other to be well (but not necessarily in a good way!), or with them sinking into dysfunction together. I'm interested in what they were like together pre-canon, but I'd also be interested in post-canon if they were to both manage to get through it - totally up for the two of them being institutionalised following the film, say, and maybe not seeing each other for a long time, or both being in the same place but not allowed to see each other. One of them dying and the other one having to live with it (or perhaps choosing not to) is also fine.

Or, the two of them at med school, at university, working together, jealousy over previous girlfriends (or boyfriends), any time they've pretended to be one another, pretending to be each other in bed, and how they might've got into a sort of creepy incestuous relationship in the first place.

Basically: Cronenberg's film is creepy and weird, so anything in that tone would be awesome! Darkfic totally welcome, but likewise if you find a way to write something lighter with these two then I'd be totally intrigued.

The Fast & the Furious:

--- Requested Ship: Owen Shaw/Deckard Shaw

Basically: this whole series of films is amazingly good fun and I love their fast cars and guns and heists and action. I definitely prefer the sixth and seventh, though, rather than the street racing of the first three and the sort of intermediate not-quite-heist-movie stage of four and five. I love the scale of the most recent ones, the sense that the good guys are maybe getting in over their heads (let's face it, apart from Hobbs, they pretty much are), and that the bad guys are really bad!

All that being said, I'm requesting Deckard Shaw/Owen Shaw so what I'm looking for is bad guys revelling in being bad guys, kinking on the fact they're brothers (or not caring about it at all, but definitely not being too negatively hung up on it, or at least not the whole time), being madly competent and possessive and pretty much awful people all day long. I don't want redemption stories where they're magically good, though I'm happy for them to end up grudgingly working with the good guys if there's a reason for it!

What I like here is that Deckard is basically a one man army and Owen is a scheming git and there's so much us-against-the-world that could come from this because basically F7 is Deckard deciding to go on a kill-crazy rampage because someone hurt his little brother. Owen is a bit of a criminal mastermind who doesn't seem to care that he's a genuinely awful person. I like to think they're just like that because they're like that, not that they have childhood trauma or that the armed forces made them that way, though. The armed forced skilled them up, sure, but I like them best as fundamentally pretty damn awful.

Ideas! Sparring and rough sex in uniform on military bases and post-canon when Owen inevitably miraculously wakes up from his coma with new scars, and jealousy and possessiveness... voyeurism (I like the idea of Deckard or Owen with Lee Christmas and/or Barney Ross from the Expendables, but I'm willing to go with basically anyone, male or female, OC or not, provided it's endgame Deckard/Owen!), lying low together and plotting their next move after the end of F7, post-canon first time fic (or first time for a while, if you see them getting together younger), how Owen left the military, if they were ever posted together, undercover as a couple (pretending they're not brothers for someone else's benefit, roleplay, whatever takes your fancy), missions gone wrong with the two of them working together and patching each other up... basically any kinky, sexy, actiony scenario you can dream of as long as you don't make them into good guys. They're Bad Guys and I like that. Heck, I think they're both very aware that they're not even the good guys in their own story.

I'm totally up for Deckard and Owen killing off the remaining Good Guys. I'm fine with murder and mayhem, collateral damage and possessive jerkery. For this one, I'm fine with underage down to 15 (I'm in the UK where age of consent is 16 anyway).

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys:

--- Requested Ship: Hercules/Ares

This was one of my first fandoms and I love it to this day. The costumes are fantastic, the locations are nothing like Greece but somehow still fantastic anyway, the monsters were terrible CGI but somehow great despite was just such campy fun and the characters were all so over-the-top and great.

I loved the whole journeying aspect of this, with different adventures each week in different parts of Greece and indeed different parts of the world. I did always prefer the parts before they wandered out of Greece, with the independent city-states, but if you'd like to set it in Scandinavia or elsewhere in Europe or Egypt or something then obviously feel free.

It's probably important to note that I do also like Iolaus so if you want to include him then please feel free! Likewise, if you'd rather he be elsewhere, that's absolutely fine. However, I'd rather there not be too much of Hercules' dead wife and kids, if possible - I'm perfectly fine with acknowledging they existed and that Hercules misses them, but I'd rather they not appear or have too much of a part to play in the story/art.

In terms of ideas: I enjoyed Ares without his powers going to people for help, but Ares with his powers is also obviously brilliant. I tended to prefer Ares being sort of snide and amusing and the banter they had, the rivalry, the fights, Ares being jealous of Hercules... Totally fine to involve Zeus or any of the other gods if you like, too. Maybe Ares does find himself mortal again and Hercules ends up helping him despite his better judgement. Maybe they work together. Maybe they're stranded together or have a problem in common. Stealing from Greek myth is great, but I'm also a fan of tropey nonsense.

This is probably not a happy-ever-after pairing, though I'd be interested to see how that would work! Darkfic is fine here (kidnapping? Stockholm/Lima syndrome?), as is PWP - maybe they meet while Ares has no powers, there's drinking and irritation and it goes from there, maybe they fight and fighting turns into something else, maybe they have to work together or they bond over their terrible father. Maybe Ares is in disguise. Maybe one of them has amnesia. Absolutely go for whatever you like.

Play up the incest angle here as much as you want, too! They're half-brothers, and maybe that feels wrong to Hercules (and Ares couldn't give a damn because, let's face it, look at the rest of the gods), or maybe they have a family resemblance, or they have stories about Zeus, or anything you like that plays on the fact they're pretty closely related (and Ares' jealousy probably comes from that) - basically have at it.

I do also like Herc/Iolaus and Ares/Xena, if you wanted to include any hints of either of those pairings - fine by me. Happy for other minor characters (gods, monsters or mortals) from H:TLJ or Xena to turn up, too!

--- Requested Ship: Nathan Petrelli/Peter Petrelli

Full disclosure: I haven't actually rewatched the full run of this in so long. Like, so very long. I've seen the odd episode here and there, and I know the plot, but you could basically write a total AU of the series and while I'd probably notice, it wouldn't be too big of a problem for me. Basically, as long as you've got Peter and Nathan and their odd not-quite-brotherly dynamic in there, you could write me a no-powers AU or a Star Trek AU or a crossover with Star Wars and I'd be A+ happy with that.

I love all of the brotherly angst in this, where Nathan's protective of Peter and Peter absolutely doesn't want that but still somehow looks up to his big brother - and, of course, Nathan's whole "you can do anything" thing when it comes to Peter. I love the whole thing at the start with them and Nathan's flying, and Peter slowly getting to know that what he thinks is real really is real, no matter what Nathan's said. I love all the times Nathan tells Peter he loves him, because it seems he really does and is willing to do a lot - and risk a lot, even if he's not really happy about it - for him.

So...tell me about them growing up? About Nathan being in the Navy and being a pilot and coming home on leave, Peter away at school, meeting somewhere by chance, Peter's boyfriends looking bemusingly like his brother... or maybe the other way around. No-Heidi AUs are also cool, but likewise don't feel like you have to write her out, or the kids (though I'd prefer the kids not play a big part, per my DNWs).

I'd be totally happy with a no-powers thing where Peter really has been imagining the whole powers thing and Nathan ends up giving up his political career so he can help him, and where that leads. I'd be totally happy with Peter seeing into an alternate timeline where he and Nathan wound up being more than brotherly toward each other, and how that affects his relationship with his timeline's Nathan. An AU where Nathan doesn't die, or he's successfully brought back, would also be good! Maybe Peter can't bring himself to let Nathan go and though he's aware that there's the possibility Sylar's going to resurface, and Nathan's not hugely pleased by what's going on, he keeps him around. Maybe sometime post-show Peter copies an ability that lets him contact Nathan, or bring him back, or pull him into his dreams. Maybe Peter time-travels or hops into an alternate universe.

Basically: Peter and Nathan ftw, I'd read pretty much anything from random canon-divergent AUs to full AUs with no powers or where they live in the 1920s or they're superheroes or own a freaking pizzeria - I just love these two rather madly!

Highlander: The Series:

--- Requested Ship: Connor MacLeod/Duncan MacLeod

Okay, it's a little bit wrong and it doesn't exactly end well, but that's probably why I like it. I'm absolutely happy for you to play up the pseudo-incest here however you want, though, as long as there's a notion that they've known each other for a long time and know each other really well. If you want to paint them as basically brothers (and finding that awful but wanting it despite it, or maybe getting off on it), or more distantly as clansmen, either way's lovely.

I'm actually okay with the events of Endgame making an appearance in this if you're up for Duncan-kills-Connor, or forget it ever happened if you prefer and go with pre-, mid- or post-canon for the show, ignoring the films. I prefer Duncan with the long hair anyway! ;)

Any time period and location is fine here. I always enjoyed it when Connor turned up no matter when/where it was, or someone talked about Connor, and the idea of him popping into Duncan's life unexpected and Things Happening is sort of amusing.

Drinking or training or sparring or out-and-out fighting turning into something more would be good. Undercover as a couple would be good! Missions at any point in history. Shenanigans with historical figures, anywhere you like in the world. Maybe they try to hook up with the same woman and end up going home rather the worse for wear for drink together instead. Also happy fic or something with h/c, or with Connor being Duncan's first time with a guy and Connor being vastly more experienced in that department. Which would be hot. :D

Pacific Rim:

--- Requested Ship: Chuck Hansen/Hercules Hansen

I'm here for all the sparring and kaiju-fighting, drift compatibility, ghost drifting, etc. Or, they start doing weird drift testing after the movie and science goes wrong. Or revenants! New aliens that aren't the kaiju! Either pre-movie or (relative) fix-it, please! I'd like Chuck actually there (however that is) and not just as a memory.

I'd like to see the first time they drifted or the first time they fought a kaiju, the sort of impact that Herc having piloted with his brother has on piloting with Chuck, training together, how exactly a physical relationship could start between them (did it start in the drift, maybe?), how it is that Chuck's such a git in the film but they still work together well...

I like this ship problematic rather than just cheerful - the two of them fighting and Herc not quite knowing how to be a father, Herc having angst because he thinks it's an abuse of his position (I'd prefer it's not actual abuse, btw, maybe with Chuck actually starting it), Chuck not giving a damn what Herc thinks (or at least pretending that way), the two of them having huge problems with PTSD or drift-related issues or everything getting mixed up between them to the point where they've no idea why they're doing what they're doing.

I'd prefer some sort of positive, not-too-bleak ending, but by no means does the whole thing need to be happy! Obviously creepy-happy where it's not a healthy thing but they go with it anyway works, too. Or, hey, go all-out oh-God-what's-happened dark where they just can't stop even though they know they should.

I also requested this for a tag-based exchange last year, and some of the tags I requested for that are (in case it's useful in terms of prompts!): amnesia; came back wrong; character is dead and doesn't know it; daddy issues; dream invasion; dubious consent due to identity issues; forced body cohabitation; forced masturbation; forced orgasm; ghosts; guilt; mind games; parallel universes; resurrection; soulmates gone wrong; telepathy; the road to hell is paved with good intentions; time loop; unhealthy relationships.

--- Requested Ship: Stacker Pentecost/Mako Mori

Odd pseudo-incest ahoy. And that's precisely how I'd like it played, if possible, rather than going for an AU where they meet when she's an adult or pretending they haven't been basically family for years - she's been kind of raised by him, she respects him, and yet an odd kind of relationship ends up springing up between them that neither of them has a clear handle on except they both want it. Maybe Stacker ends up blaming himself and Mako isn't sure how to tell him not to, even thought she wants it. Maybe they both keep trying to call it off but can't.

Totally happy with either one of them initiating this, or it just being A Thing That Happens at some point because they've spent so much time together in such a pressurised environment and they have FEELINGS. Canon-divergent AU where Stacker can actually still pilot jaegers with Mako being his co-pilot? Drifting without being in a jaeger? Stacker survives and he's in a coma so Mako drifts with him? Stacker training Mako and while they're fighting it all goes a bit sideways?

Things I love about these two are her respect for him, her toughness and intelligence, his gruffness and bluffness, and the size/age difference between the two of them.

Star Trek: The Original Series:

--- Requested Ship: Good Kirk/Bad Kirk (from the transporter accident in The Enemy Within)

What is it with Star Trek and transporter accidents! You'd think they'd be more careful, really, considering how Kirk ends up split into a good part and a bad part, Riker ends up duplicated, Tuvix, traveling into the Mirror Universe...but Kirk and Kirk were the originals.

It's pretty hard to define what exactly it is that I like about TOS, really, but Kirk has a large part in that. I love all the times he ends up with a torn shirt and light strategically streaked across his eyes. By Picard standards, he's also not exactly the best captain in Starfleet history - he's a bit of a cowboy, a risk-taker, cares about his mission of exploration... and, according to The Enemy Within, it's equal parts his 'good' and 'bad' sides that make him so effective as a captain at that particular point in Star Trek history.

I'd be strangely interested in what might've happened if they couldn't reintegrate the two Kirks but they didn't end up dead - presumably they wouldn't have been allowed to remain in command of the Enterprise, but they could maybe be involved in other ways. Maybe it's only temporary (say it lasts a few months and they're sent back to Earth in the meantime), or maybe it's permanent. Would they learn to use their skills and/or work together? Does Bad!Kirk end up doing something awful? Does Good!Kirk stop him? Do they end up stuck in a lab for the duration?

I'm really interested in how they relate to each other, how they interact with each other, if they're able to learn from each other (or successfully impersonate each other), that kind of thing, given that they're technically the same person with the same memories (up until the split). Is it really odd? Do they each feel strangely like the other is necessary? Do they resent each other? What are their friends' reactions to the two of them? Do they end up figuring it all out between themselves? Do they end up travelling the galaxy or settling down somewhere on Earth together? Is it weird and codependent or does the two of them being together/getting together actually help them come to terms with what's going on?

Feel free to drag in whoever you might like in terms of other characters - I pretty much love everyone in TOS.

Star Trek: The Next Generation:

--- Requested Ship: Will Riker/Thomas Riker

There was always Star Trek on in the house when I was growing up and the one that I saw first was TNG, so it has a special place in my heart.

I love TNG pretty much in its entirety. I love the epicness of their mission (they're seeking out new life, for pete's sake!), I love the weird and wonderful worlds they end up on with their different cultures and that it's practically a new one every episode. I love the weird science and the Enterprise set and the procession of different Enterprises (and how there's a new area whenever they need one, it's like the freaking Room of Requirement, I swear). I love saucer separation (it just looks cool!) and the idea that Riker really wants to have the Enterprise so much he's willing to forego several commands of his own for it.

I also love the non-human characters just as much as the humans...particularly Klingons (hello, space vikings) and Cardassians. There are very few characters I don't like, actually - I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Pulaski or Wesley Crusher, but that's basically it - and indeed there are also very few episodes I don't like. However, my favourite characters are Riker, Worf, Picard, Q and Dr. Crusher and I'm just as much a fan of the darker episodes as the lighter ones, so things like Schisms or Frame of Mind or Picard kidnapped by Gul Madred (or the Borg), or conversely a Dixon Hill or Sherlock Holmes holodeck episode, or one of Q's flights of fancy. Go wherever you like with this. Everything below is absolutely just a guideline.

However, okay, I'll admit it: I'm looking for Will/Thomas dirtybadwrong selfcest here. I'm interested in the ways in which they're different or they're the same (physically and otherwise), what being alone all that time did to Thomas and whether Will feels any guilt or responsibility toward him, memories they share and ones they don't, what effect it might have on them to be in the same place at the same time due to sciencey weirdness... maybe there being two of them instead of just the one that there was to start with has a weird physical or mental effect.

Maybe they end up stranded and come to a sort of odd relationship together (whether they're then rescued and have to deal with it, or they stay there for good). Maybe they're obsessed with the idea that they have a double in the universe and it all descends into Dead Ringers-like levels of codependency. Maybe Thomas kidnaps Will and takes his place. Maybe soulmates gone wrong (Will didn't have a soulmate but then there's Thomas...) or they end up transporter-accidented back into the same body, sharing control but they each feel what the other does. Maybe they're just good old-fashioned attracted to each other and horrified (or not) that that's the case.
