Dear Worldbuilder!

(Finally done! I can only apologise for its lateness.)

Some of this is taken directly from previous letters because my likes/wants really don't change all that much! Apologies for any repetition. Obviously some of the Likes/Dislikes section won't be useful for this exchange but I thought I'd include it just in case.

Note: I'm completely happy with any rating ranging from the mildest G right up to the most explicit of explicit (for fic or for art). Also, length of prompts below doesn't indicate that I want one fandom more than another - I just have more words for some and more incoherent squee for others. ;)

All prompts below are really just in case you want to know what I might like as a jumping-off point. If you have ideas of your own that are nothing like my prompts - 100% don't feel tied to using them!

All my requests are for fic or art or meta, and I should probably make it clear that I'm 100% happy with any of the three!

However, I'm pretty terrible at giving art-specific prompts (I'm trying to improve!) so really, if we match on art and nothing from the prompts below grabs you then I'm totally fine with basically anything you could possibly dream up. This is one exchange where I'd really like to see what you think of the canon we match on, how it sparks you imagination, directions it takes you and whatnot.

If it helps: I love contrasting colours, bold lines, little details like scenery jewellery or specific clothes people wore in canon, I like fingers twined together (or in hair), maybe something that's an expansion of a scene or a location or a point of canon, or anything from my list of likes below!

100% DNWs:
  • children/pregnancy (not even vague mentions of pregnancy at all, please, including mpreg and oviposition, and no children as main characters - I'm happy to read a bit about the characters themselves as kids in the past, but I'd prefer everyone involved be adults at the time the fic takes place)
  • D/s lifestyle (casual D/s without minute negotiation, or totally unnegotiated dubcon iffiness, are both A-OK!)
  • humiliation (as a kink or otherwise)
  • scat/watersports
  • A/B/O
  • ageplay/infantilisation
  • any mention of spiders/tarantulas or similar - other creepy-crawlies are fine

Things I'm not fond of:
  • character death, if followed only by someone else's unending woeful angst (death in general is fine)
  • threesomes/moresomes/poly, unless requested
  • pure fluff/curtainfic - happy is wonderful, holding hands while skipping through meadows not so much!

Basically, as long as it's not in my DNWs, absolutely go for it - I mean that 100%. Zombie apocalypse? Really kinky porn? Gore? Random crack? Badfic on purpose? Wacky AUs? All fine! But, if you want ideas about what I like:

General likes:
  • time loops
  • Pacific Rim fusions
  • snarky, sarcastic or tongue-in-cheek humour
  • banter
  • characters getting older; ageing
  • characters knowing each other really well
  • futurefic/post-canon
  • competence, whether physical or intellectual (or both)
  • action scenes; battles; fights (fistfights and with weapons)
  • characters being forced to fight (Hunger Games, Mortal Kombat, that kind of thing)
  • seemingly insignificant details that turn out to be super-important/significant
  • worldbuilding (obviously ;))
  • ridiculous crossovers (or indeed sensible ones)

For shipfic (in addition to the above):
  • friends to lovers; enemies to lovers; enemies to friends to lovers
  • characters who know each other really well (or get to know each other really well) and show it without meaning to or really trying to
  • people not saying 'I love you' but clearly meaning/demonstrating it anyway
  • tough characters making themselves realistically vulnerable
  • differences and contrasts in age/height/etc. (especially when the smaller/younger one isn't actually small/young, only in comparison to the other character)
  • one character being physically stronger than the other (especially if the weaker one isn't weak, only weaker in comparison)
  • happy (or at least hopeful) endings
  • getting together
  • first time (first time together, or getting back together after years apart)
  • competence kink
  • loyalty kink; trust kink
  • jealousy/possessiveness/co-dependency/protectiveness
  • admiration (physical and/or intellectual)
  • me-and-you-against-the-world
  • identity porn (roleplaying; undercover; secret identities)
  • characters wearing each other's clothes (fine either way for m/m or f/f, fine for the woman in m/f to wear the man's clothes, but I'd prefer no male crossdressing)
  • fake dating or undercover turning into something more
  • everyone thinks they're dating (but they're not, except maybe then they are)
  • dating but they don't realise (or one of them doesn't but the other does, for cultural/obliviousness reasons)

Explicit/kinky fic:
  • fight sex, or sparring/arguing turning into more
  • rough sex in general, and rough sex that turns slower and/or more intense from one time to the next
  • knifeplay, gunplay, weaponplay in general
  • breathplay/choking (preferably with hands)
  • bloodplay (preferably involving knives)
  • semi-clothed sex; clothed/naked; how awkward clothing (or armour, etc.) is removed
  • sex in showers
  • one character shaving a (male) character's face (preferably with a cutthroat razor but I'll adore anything!)
  • one character writing on another's skin; marking with cuts or bruises
  • stories behind scars/bruises/tattoos (and touching/kissing them, or reopening/reinjuring them)
  • differences in age/height/strength
  • sexual fantasies
  • voice/accent kink; phone sex; sexual situations where one character can only hear the other one (e.g. in total darkness)
  • switching - I have absolutely no strict top/bottom roles in mind (and switching mid-scene is also great)
  • for m/m, first time topping/bottoming/with a guy
  • desperation; characters knowing they shouldn't but not being able to help themselves
  • characters who think they're just having casual sex ending up unexpectedly desperately in love
  • hard, desperate kissing; fingers in hair

Darker fic:
I enjoy darkfic and dark art so as long as it's not in my DNWs, go for it. Torture porn, ghost stories, scary magic, religious weirdness, twisted mindfuckery, non-con, gaslighting, serious body horror, all absolutely A-OK. Feel free to use bad/offensive/dirty language if it fits the fic, as much swearing as you like, etc. I'll read just about anything, including xeno, vore, serial killer AUs, whatever tickles your fancy. Basically: excepting my DNWs, feel free to try to weird me out!

Alien Series (Movies Only):

Requested Characters: Annalee Call; Dwayne Hicks; Ellen Ripley; Lance Bishop; Ron Johner; none, OCs

(Ship note: I'll read basically any ship for any of these films, from Alien to Prometheus, if you want to go there.)

A note on the fandom: I've seen all of the films but I haven't played the games and it's been years since I read any of the novelisations or comics, so I'm really requesting movie canon only, please!

Feel free to use any/all/none of my requested characters in any combination for any of the tags, drag in any characters from any of the films (including Prometheus if you like) or use original characters.

A big part of what I like about Alien is the aesthetic of it - yes, I like HR Giger! the aliens and the ships and the dark/light and the isolated feel of it are great - and I'm big on survival horror and futuristic environments and space-related canons in general.

--- Requested Tag: Autons and Other Synthetics

- What was the idea behind creating the Autons as opposed to other synthetics? Who decided to go ahead with it? What caused the problems?

- Where are the other Autons besides Call? Who are they? What are they up to? Have there been extensive attempts to hunt them down? If so, why? Are they all performing Call-like feats of sabotage or are some of them living relatively normal lives?

- What was public reaction like to the first synthetics? What was marketing like? What were they like? Did they all look alike? Were they all modelled after someone? Who designed them? Where? Why? How have they developed over time?

- We've seen synthetics in space-related work - what else do they get up to? Are there artists, scientists, are they programmed for different purposes, are there legal wranglings over "ownership", etc.? Are there communities?

- Ethics of synthetics - how do people feel about them? Do they have any kind of rights? Were there moral objections? Do the synthetics or Autons have any thoughts on this?

- Synthetics in space - were they used on "unmanned" missions at all? Did they play any part in colonising other planets? Is there a reason why there aren't squads made entirely of synthetics? Or are there?

- If you want to go the "Blade Runner and Alien are in the same universe" route, competition between Tyrell and their replicants and Weyland-Yutani and the synthetics, vying for military contracts, civilian applicatiosn of each type, or cooperation between the Autons and the replicants vs. the Blade Runners. (Feel free to drag in any Blade Runner characters you might like if you go for this!)

--- Requested Tag: Colonial Marines

- What sort of people join the Colonial Marines (enlisted and officers)? How did they end up there?

- Where is home base for the marines? Is it Earth? Do they have another staging point? Do they have outposts on other planets? What is life like in the marines? What's their downtime like? What's their training like?

- What exactly do the marines do? Is it all transporting medicines and getting colonists out of tight spots, is it turf wars over colonies (are there still definite nations back on Earth that are squabbling over territory in space?) and defending them from piracy?

- Do they accompany any civilian missions? Is there also a Star Trek-like space navy at work?

- Have any other teams of marines met the xenomorphs? Have they come across any other problem aliens? Have they ever made first contact?

- Since I guess technically Alien and Predator are in the same universe, have any of the marines come across the yautja?

--- Requested Tag: Earth

- Johner says something about Earth being, err, less than charming in Alien: Resurrection. What happened? What is it actually like at that point? Is it as bad as Johner says, or is it just that he doesn't like an Earthbound kind of life?

- How different is Earth at the time of Alien: Resurrection to when Ripley was young? What's different/the same?

- Assuming there are colonies on other planets (as there must be!), who's still living on Earth? Who chooses to leave?

- Again with the "Blade Runner and Alien are in the same universe" notion - what if when Ripley et al arrive on Earth it's to the kind of futuristic noir environment of Blade Runner?

--- Requested Tag: Other Planets

- What is life like on the other planets people have colonised? What are the environments like? What else lives there? Any interesting animals? Any interesting aliens?

- Why did colonising start? Was it out of necessity? What were the first colonies like?

- Are there any disputes over territory, either between indigenous inhabitants and the colonists or between colonists?

--- Requested Tag: The Weyland-Yutani Corporation

- Alien: Resurrection implies Weyland-Yutani isn't as important anymore. What happened?

- What sort of cutthroat business practices or excellent marketing techniques must Weyland-Yutani have employed to get where they got to?

- What other branches does the company have?

- Weyland and Yutani before/during the merger; Weyland and Yutani the people.

- Yet again with the "Blade Runner and Alien are in the same universe" thing - Weyland-Yutani (and their products or services) in competition with Tyrell.

The Cabin in the Woods:

Requested Characters: none; OCs

(Ship note: I'll read any pairing of any characters in the film, OCs, monsters, whatever - if you're looking for the opportunity to write tentacles, this is it!)

A note on the fandom: I haven't specified characters at all so feel free to go for any of the canon characters, original characters, original monsters, whatever takes your fancy!

What I like about this canon is the wit and the action and the sense that this has been going on for a Very Long Time, but that it's sort of run like a business complete with administrators and bureaucrats and that glorious betting pool. If you want to tell me the story of the monsters, any of the workers (in the film or OCs), etc. - have at it! :D

--- Requested Tag: Monster origins

- I admit it, I'd like to know where they come from. Were they created in a lab? Were they always in the world but have been captured and held just for this purpose? Do they have people out in the world catching them?

- How did the whole picking-a-monster-by-picking-up-stuff thing come about? What are the objects that bring the rest of them, and how?

- Who looks after them? How do you keep a monster? Are there specific instructions for what to do and not to do around certain monsters? Are they always kept in the cells we see in the film? How exactly do the cells contain them?

- Do the keepers ever bond with them? Do they ever get out?

--- Requested Tag: Office recruitment

- Do people apply for jobs or are they head-hunted?

- What on earth are the selection activities like for that kind of place? What sort of things are they looking for in a CV? What are their ads like, if they have them? What sort of tests might they do?

- What sort of jobs might they need to recruit for (and how do they do it)?

- Do they tell people up-front what they're going in for? If people freak out, what happens?

--- Requested Tag: Origin of Ritual

- Seriously, who negotiated this deal? When? How? Seriously, who figured out (or negotiated, even) what they needed to do to appease the Ancient Ones?

- Is there a reason it's all so hush-hush?

- Did the ritual as we see it evolve gradually? Were there any other ideas before this? Were they tried out and failed spectacularly?

- Was it always death-by-monster? Have there been other types of rituals? Was it literally just "kill these people in order" at one point? Has it been getting ever more elaborate over time? Had it needed to?

- What about the other HQs - how did their rituals evolve?

--- Requested Tag: Other headquarters

- What's a ritual usually like in Japan? Sweden? Australia? a country of your choice? Are there other US rituals, or other rituals elsewhere in the Americas?

- What are their monsters like? Everything seems to be quite region-specific - are they creatures from local folklore? Does the Ancient One under each facility require different things (and if so, why)?

- What are their staff like? Are they more or less serious than the American staff? Do they ever do work exchange programmes?

- How many different facilities around the world are there, anyway?

--- Requested Tag: Rituals in history

- What was the first one like?

- How has the technology evolved since it started?

- How close have they come to failure before?

The Chronicles of Riddick Series:

Requested Characters: Richard B. Riddick; Dahl; Vaako; Dame Vaako; none; OCs - I'd rather not get a Kyra-focused gift but Jack-focused would be fine.

(Ship note: I basically ship Riddick with anyone/everyone!)

A note on the fandom: Yep, more survival horror. And weird, twisty space politics with the whole Necromonger thing that could - if you wanted to go there - rival freaking Dune. I'm equally happy with either flavour!

I've seen all the films, read the novelisations, played the games, etc., so feel free to use any/all/none of that if you like! One thing I'd say, though, is if you involve Riddick as a character I'd prefer him be sort of grey of morals rather than a straight-up good guy. I like him when he's doing what suits him best, not what's necessarily right.

--- Requested Tag: Furya

- Is there any life on Furya, or did the Necromongers really kill/convert everyone?

- Are there any other Furyans left? Who are they? Where are they? What are they like?

- What was it like before the Necromongers? What was their society like? Who were Riddick's people?

- What's the deal with the different worlds in Riddick? Were all the inhabitants of Furya humans from Earth (or descendants thereof)? Did they evolved in different ways to the other human colonists since then? Are they actually different species that just happen to bear a striking resemblance to humans, or...what?

- Does Riddick ever get to Furya? What does he find there, if anything? If there are people, does he fit in? If there's not, is it totally barren or another World of Monsters? Is he disappointed at all? Does he stay?

--- Requested Tag: Necromonger Society

- Vaako and Dame Vaako are obviously married - what's the idea of marriage in Necromonger culture?

- Are they really majority soldiers or are there Necromongers that do other things? I assume there must be! What is life like for them?

- What is life like on the Necromonger homeworld? Do they have other colonies or do the majority of Necromongers travel with the fleet?

- What is life like in the Necromonger fleet? What are the politics of Necromonger society?

--- Requested Tag: The Underverse

- What is the Underverse? Is it a kind of afterlife? Is it another dimension? Is it a trick and it turns out to be a strange sort of Hellraiser-esque place full of woe? Is it really everything the Necromongers think it is?

- How many people might have gone there and come back like Zhylaw did? Did anyone ever go there mistakenly before the first Lord Marshal?

- What would Riddick make of it?

- After the extended ending of Riddick, does Vaako come back from the Underverse different, like Zhylaw? What has he learned? Is it everything he expected? Is he pleased by it, more resolved to his religion by it, disappointed, disillusioned?

--- Requested Tag: The Wailing Wars

- We've got like zero info on this. Why the name? How long did they last? Who was involved? How exactly did Riddick end up in it?

--- Requested Tag: Necromonger Conversion

- What exactly does conversion do to people? Is it just taking physical pain away or does it also dull emotions? What does it do physiologically? Does it make people stronger or just less prone to pain? Do they still eat, drink, etc.?

- Does conversion extend life at all? Does it help with injury?

- Does it ever work in different ways on different people?

- Does it ever wear off? If it does, what happens when it does? Does it need to be repeated? Does much of anything survive conversion - do converts remember their past? - or are they usually wiped more or less clean? If they're wiped, might they ever start to remember?

--- Requested Tag: Slam Escapes

- How many slams has Riddick escaped from? The times we don't have stories for, how did he do it? Has he ever had help?

- How about other people - have others escaped from slams? How did they do it?

- Have they ever had a tester (à la Escape Plan)? Has anyone ever thought of employing Riddick to test their systems?

Hunger Games Series - All Media Types:

Requested Characters: Cinna; Haymitch Abernathy; Katniss Everdeen; Original Gamemaker; Original Victor; none; OCs

(Ship note: open to Katniss/basically anyone (including Haymitch, Cinna, Finnick, Johanna, etc.), OCs, whatever you like.)

A note on the fandom: I've read all the books and I've seen all the films and I don't have a preference between the two so feel free to choose one or mix and match between them!

I love the differences in settings, the tricksiness of the arenas, the odd fatality to everything contrasted with the levity of Capitol society...

--- Requested Tag: After the war

- Is District 12 ever rebuilt? Do people who escaped go back, or do they remain elsewhere?

- What is life like for people in any of the districts or the Capitol after the war? Everything that came from the districts before still needs producing, so what's changed? What's stayed the same?

- How are Katniss and the others viewed?

--- Requested Tag: Arena Design

- What was the first arena like? Who designed it? Was it quite simple or did they play elaborate games right from the start?

- What was the most disastrously ill-conceived arena like?

- What was the arena that took the longest time to win in like? Was that an accident?

- What was the arena that took the shortest time to win in like? Was that an accident?

- What was the most popular arena design?

- What was the arena like for the previous Quarter Quells?

- Do they reuse the same area with different landscaping and different sizes of enclosure or are they in totally different places? Where are the arenas? Is there arena tourism after the games? Do people have favourite arenas?

- How has arena design evolved over the years?

- Are there any non-lethal arena designs that Capitol folk might use for thrills? Are there gamemakers for other events?

--- Requested Tag: District 1

- When the the career tribute thing start in District 1? Who exactly thought that was a good idea? Who are the children chosen to be career tributes? Who decides when they're ready?

- Is there any element of interaction between the Capitol and 1? Can people travel between the two? Would Capitol people want to? Would 1 people be allowed to?

- What are the similarities and differences between, say, 1 and 2 as districts/societies, 1 and 2 in terms of career tributes, and 1 and the Capitol? Do people in 1 try to be like Capitol people?

--- Requested Tag: Fashion

- Anything about the other stylists who have made a splash in previous Hunger Games, or about Cinna's background.

- Tribute costume design - how are the stylists chosen? Is it meant to be an honour? Is it?

- Any other time something from the Games or a district (like Katniss's braid) has made it into Capitol fashion.

- There seem to be a lot of really different styles in the Capitol, from how Effie looks to Tigris to Cressida to Cinna. Do different fashions compete? Are there "underground", edgy fashions? What's classic? What's trendy? What's passé?

--- Requested Tag: The first Hunger Games

- How, exactly, did they come up with the idea? Whose idea was it? Who was the gamemaker?

- What was public reaction like in the districts? What was reaction like in the Capitol? How was it explained, in the districts and in the Capitol?

- What aspects of the first games would be familiar in Katniss's time? What might have been different?

- Who were the first tributes? Were they chosen "randomly" the same way or were they selected? Who was the first victor (where were they from/what did they do after)?

--- Requested Tag: Tributes

- Did the first tributes have mentors at all or did the idea of mentors come later? If they did, who were they and where were they from? If not, were they just left to get on with it themselves?

- We only see the Reaping in 12. What is it like to be a tribute from another district? A career district? A non-career district?

- Anything about the lives of the tributes from Katniss's games before they were reaped.

- What was the most useful gift a sponsor has ever given a tribute? Did it help them win? Was it a weapon or something else?

--- Requested Tag: Victors

- Whose was the most dramatic victory? Who were they? What happened?

- What is the life of a victor like after the games? Does it vary by district? Are they generally expected to live in the Capitol at least part of the year or do most of them move back to their districts? Do they essentially become Capitol citizens or are they held at arm's length?

- Has a victor's child ever been reaped? Has a former victor ever volunteered for a subsequent tribute? Is that even allowed?

- Finnick seems to have been basically pimped to wealthy Capitol socialites. Who were they? Women? Men? What were the other secrets they told him? Is it the same for all victors?

- Are there events where previous victors are expected to come along? Are they celebrities generally or is the Hunger Games more of a seasonal thing?

Labyrinth (1986):

Requested Characters: Sarah Williams; Jareth; none; OCs

(Ship note: Sarah/Jareth or Jareth/OC great here, if you like. Prefer Sarah or the OC be 16+!)

--- Requested Tag: Effects of humans on Labyrinth and the Goblin King

- Does the presence of a human in the goblin world change things?

- Jareth hints that things are shaped to the particular human's desires and expectations - does any of that remain when they're gone?

- What sort of a toll might living up to Sarah's (or someone else's) expectations take on Jareth?

- Goblin musings on how their world is changed by human presences there.

--- Requested Tag: Lasting effects of the Labyrinth on humans

- Does anyone ever go back? Does anyone ever stay?

- Does anything from their time there stay with them - anything they've learned, magic, etc.?

- Do they see things from the Labyrinth in our world? Are they real?

- Does it change their perspective at all, and if so, how?

- Goblin musings on how it affects humans.

--- Requested Tag: the Labyrinth

- Any of the other places that must exist that we don't see!

- Other creatures that live within the Labyrinth.

- Does the Labyrinth have any consciousness of its own, or is it all controlled by Jareth? Is it playful? Is it mean?

- How do the goblins navigate the Labyrinth? Do they ever get lost?

- How was it built? Who built it? Was it Jareth's idea or maybe a predecessor's? (Does Jareth even have a predecessor?)

- Goblin literature about the Labyrinth.

--- Requested Tag: Jareth's castle

- Anything about the weird Escher-y mechanics of it. Is that Jareth's doing or is it for Sarah's benefit?
